Dawes | My Way Back Home
Beautiful.
My Way Back Home by Dawes - The right tune for this morning, a bit of melancholy and a bit of hopefulness.
I admit that these answers that I seek
Are all to questions I’ve never known
Ok Cover Friday, you win. But only because of this incredible multi-instrumental version of Gorillaz’ Feel Good, Inc. by Josie Charlwood

So American by Portugal. The Man (via exfm)
Yeah, it’s cover Friday, but I have to buck that trend and post another Portugal. The Man track. The new album is so, so good. This track though is currently at the tippy top for me. Something about how it sounds like a song from 1973 and a song from 2011 at the same time. It’s got pace, harmony, catchiness, and originality. Nothing else out there sounds like this and I love that. It’s got mixes and influences from the past for sure, but it’s all Portugal. The Man. Good, good stuff. Do not sleep on this band. The album is up on SoundCloud HERE (Thanks @David). Point your browser there, let exfm do its beautiful magic, then sit back and enjoy a fine record. Voila.
This is the opening track from the new album and it’s one of the best on this record.
Apex Manor | Under The Gun
I’ve had this on replay since I hit play the first time. Also, what Kirk said.
Woah! What a song. Smack me in the face and let me say thank you for doing so. This track is the shit. Thought it was Wilco at first. Hot damn new music discovery! Thanks Luisa!
The Shins | Gone For Good

Elbow | One Day Like This

Elbow - One Day Like This
Much thanks to my friend David Noel for pointing me toward the Elbow mini documentary Rocket Science. Paraguay and got comfy in bed last night and queued this up on the Apple TV. After we proceeded to watch video after video from the Elbow Live with the BBC Orchestra (I need to find a higher quality feed of that). I can’t say enough great things about this band. Guy Garvey’s voice pierces me. This has been and probably always will be my favorite Elbow song.
