This is Julsy, aka Julie’s Audiobiography. She shares a little about herself and what’s important in her life. Listen to her skills in English, French, Russian and Spanish.
Behind every piece of music, audio, sound shared on SoundCloud is a person. A living, breathing, human being somewhere on this planet. I’m blown away by the people in the SoundCloud community. What a special place.
Been loving the large-scale community project initiated by the SoundCloud Heroes, a group of SoundCloud members committed to this amazing community of sound creators.
Listen to more Audiobiographies — in which SoundCloud community members tell us who they are and what they care about.

One of our SoundCloud Fellows and creator of The Appreciation Engine, Steph, challenges us to record and share a message of appreciation every day in November. It’s called The Thanksgiving Challenge and it is easy.
This is my first message of appreciation, recorded in our SF office with Jane who ran the Fellowship project and with Steph herself.
Who’s in?
SoundCloud Community Fellow Nadia Wilson meets a man who has been playing the violin underground in the NYC Subway for 30 years. Hear his story in this episode of From Hear to There.
New York friends! In her Fellowship project From Hear To There, Nadia Wilson surfaces people and their stories on the NYC subway. Been secretly wishing for someone to do a project like this.
Recording and sharing thoughts about tech while out for groceries. Is there a word for this, @Scobleizer?
Update from a reply: “Supermarketing” (<— love this)
One Hello World - He Writes Music To Voicemails
Imagine you’re living in Syracuse, NY. One day, you decide to encourage people to call you to record a voice message on your answering machine. Once you’ve collected a bunch of voice mails, you sit down at night and start creating music as a soundtrack for these voice messages.
Sounds cool? Yeah, that’s what Jared has been doing for a while and it is beautiful.
Jared joined our SoundCloud Heroes program, you should follow his Tumblr.

One week after releasing the latest Labs feature Story Wheel (which lets you easily record the story behind your Instagram photos), I finally got the chance to show Instagram’s Community Manager Josh a few nice examples.
This is one of my favorites so far. It’s a short story about Hank, who, you’ll hear for yourself, “discovered that he likes to hang out with little people.”
Well well well.
It’s only Monday but I’m already calling my favorite new SoundCloud member for the week.
The Boston Man just messaged us to let us know that he started a SoundCloud for a collection of words spoken with a Boston accent.
This immediately reminded me of Julianne Moore as Jack Donahue’s girlfriend in 30 Rock.

#SCstory: Kerry Muzzey
TV & film composer based in L.A., Kerry Muzzey shared his awesome #SCstory with us about his experience with the community. What’s your #SCstory?
It really warms my heart to listen to these stories recorded by our community members about their time on SoundCloud. Every day, we post a new story to our Tumblr.
I remember “meeting” Kerry on Twitter when he tweeted at @SoundCloud saying that he just only found out about the site and the community. That was earlier this year and since then, we’ve had some regular exchanges on Twitter. Listening to Kerry’s voice and story now makes me think:
“Hey friend, I’ve known you for some time, glad to hear your voice.”
Ms. Lovell passed away on November 26th at the age of 107.
In a moving recording, the oral history project MyStuy.org captured the story of the Lovells who live(d) in the Stuyvesant Heights neighborhood of north-central Brooklyn.
I’ve been thinking about oral history a lot lately. We’re mostly focused on creating new things all the time and easily forget that there is meaning in preserving what’s behind us.
Just in case you needed a little Sunday dose of penguins.
