The Weakerthans | Benediction (Live at Burton Cummings Theatre)
John K. Samson is a great storyteller. Probably one of my favorites and this live version of Benediction is excellent with the pedal stell and the vocals of his wife Christine Fellows.
As posted earlier today, I can’t wait to hold the red double vinyl and DVD in my hands. I’m sure it will bring back great memories from the three-week tour with the guys in 2003. Half-way through the first listen, Night Windows and Reconstruction Site (Stephen killing it on the pedal steel!) are my favorites so far.
Thanks to Gabriel for sending the link.
Update: this album is incredible.
The Weakerthans - Everything Must Go (Live at The Burton Cummings Theatre)
Nice one, Tyler. Didn’t know The Weakerthans were releasing a live album. I ordered the special bundle this morning and can’t wait for it to arrive. It includes a double colored vinyl edition, a t-shirt and the DVD of the show.

But we communicate in questions, and all our answers sound the same.
The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving
Hands down the best tour I had the chance to be on. Three weeks of Weakerthans, every night.

I missed their latest tour in Germany. I was bummed. I had the chance to tourmanage everyone’s favorite Winnipegians on their tour in 2003 I think it was. It was one of the best tours I had the chance to do. Super nice guys, had a blast with Stephen and Cam, had John K as my co-pilot with a sharp eye on the road. We spent the best day-off ever in Zurich, rented a boat and got sun-burned on the Zurich lake. Nice hotel too - right in the old town centre.
Well. So I couldn’t see them live, but we had the chance to catch their Berlin show on tape. And boy (and girls), these guys are just great. See the first part of thefull show below and head of over to Sly-Fi.com for Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and an interview (Part 1, Part 2) with guitarplayer Stephen.
