On This Day Today: 1943
On this day today in 1943, Holocaust Nazis liquidate Janowska concentration camp in Lviv, (in today’s) Ukraine, murdering at least 6,000 Jews after a failed uprising and mass escape attempt.
Every single time I reading even the shortest sentence about the holocaust and the planned, systematic execution of humans it gives me the shivers. Although I’m a peaceful person, it makes me want to punch anyone’s face who denies what has happened during that time.
One of the most intense scenes in Band Of Brothers, is when Easy Company discovers the Kaufering camp in southern Germany. It’s impossible to imagine what a gut-wrenching experience that must have been.
