Alex from Toronto is one of our Community Fellows, her project is called United Sounds.
She’s working on building the largest collection of audio recordings of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. There are 370+ different translations of the document and Alex encourages people from around the world to record a version in their own language. To date, she collected 47 different versions from various people around the world (including Sanskrit!)
While every recording and language has its own special touch, the actual people and stories behind the individuals recording these versions are even more special.
Listen to Alex sharing some of the stories in this voice message. It gave me goosebumps and proved to me that the internet can be a magical place.
