My History With The Stills / New Record 'Oceans...
I remember like it was yesterday. I was strolling through Lafyette Street north of Canal Street in New York City with my Brooklyn friends LeeAnn and Glenn when we passed this cool little store called ‘Vice’. It was in 2003. Back then the store had a mix of clothes, records and you could by a coffee made by the tenants. I remember grabbing one of the magazines laying around when the...

Great video I just stumbled upon on Hobnox to the song ‘I Sing I Swim’ by a band called Seabear from Reykjavik, Iceland. I’m such a sucker for Icelandic bands. They’re on great label in Germany called Morr Music.

Join The Tumblr-Group: Tumblrs In Berlin
After seing this post by Sebastian about possibly the first Berlin Tumblr meetup, I quickly set up a group called ‘Tumblrs In Berlin’. No design yet, no posts yet (except for this one), wording of course is subject to change etc. Anyone interested to join?Do you want this group to be private or public? This is an attempt to invite all people from Berlin who are using Tumblr into this...

Sorry guys, but this one is going to be in German as the video is in German.

Keane: WTF is that?
I stumbled upon this post over at The Cold Cut about a new song that Keane just released. The song itself was taken from the blog/YSI but I found it on the Hypem. I have to admit that I always liked Keane since I toured the UK when their first single came out. I’ve never been a fan or anything but enjoyed listening to their songs. But this new song ‘Spiralling’ is really really...

First Music 2.0 Dinner In Berlin
On Friday, I was part of a nice dinner meet-up at Mädchenitaliener in Berlin’s Mitte with some great people. A couple of months ago, EJ from TheNextWeb sent me an email telling me he and his girlfriend were coming to visit Berlin and if I’d be interested to meet for dinner. Sure I was and we thought about bringing together some people from the Berlin music/start-up/blogger scene....

Simplify Media - Share Your iTunes Library Online →
Johannes pointed me out to Simplify Media via Skype, a cool little app that lets you share your iTunes library with friends. Just download the app, set up an account and invite up to 30 friends to share your music with. It works over the internet but basically looks like the shared libraries in a same network. In your iTunes, it will show your friends’ libraries in the left bar. Very cool....

Lots of great live shows out of their archive: The Robocop Kraus, Olli Schulz & Der Hund Marie, Manic Street Preachers, The Album Leaf, Chikinki, Gods Of Blitz, Shout Out Louds and lots more. The full screen feature doesn’t work, the streaming quality is good though. The ‘Rockpalast’ is a series of live concerts produced by the WDR (since 1976), one of Germany’s...

This is hilarious. A 5min.com video about two Australians trying to get into every club (and even into the Australian Parliament) just by pretending they’re DJ’s. The best part: it worked everywhere, except for … watch yourself. via Stylewalker

Interview With Anthony Volodkin Of The Hype...
I always loved it but it’s been no secret that lately I’ve become a huge fan of the Hypemachine. It now is my main source for discovering new music and has nourished my hunger for electronic music and remixes for the past couple of months. Nice coincidence that Markus over at Netzpolitik had the chance to sit down with Anthony, the founder of Hypemachine during his stay in New York....

“Raising money is the second hardest part of starting a startup. The hardest part is making something people want: most startups that die, die because they didn’t do that. But the second biggest cause of death is probably the difficulty of raising money. Fundraising is brutal.” via
